We invite you to explore the southernmost region in Africa.
Bredasdorp forms part of the Cape Agulhas Region. The southernmost region of Africa is a subregion of the Overberg and stretches from Gansbaai in the west, through Buffeljachts, Die Dam, L´Agulhas, Struisbaai and Arniston/Waenhuiskrans up to the mouth of the Breede River in the east. It includes the De Hoop Nature Reserve. This undulating landscape, with the Riviersonderend and Langeberg mountain ranges as background, is known as the Ruggens, whereas the southern coastal region beyond the Bredasdorp-Napier mountain range is known as the Strandveld. Bredasdorp is situated 41km from the most Southern Point of Africa in L´Agulhas. The town is the economic hub of the Cape Agulhas region, serving the townsfolk, farmers from outlying areas and visitors to the nearby coastal towns. |
